The Mizoram State government created the Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS). Hereinafter may be termed as the Society, to lead for and on behalf of the state to effectively respond to the HIV/AIDS epidemic as suggested by the terms of reference and mandate expressed through this policy subjected to review and modification as and when found necessary by the competent authority.
The State Government of Mizoram and the Mizoram State AIDS Control Society consider the AIDS problem as a great public health challenge, developmental issue, social issue of great urgency and top priority, requiring immediate Government action.
The State Government and the Society are fully committed to deliver effective and efficient implementation of the AIDS Control Program and shall arrange to provide adequate budget for proper implementation of the program at state, district and at all levels.
The Executive Committee of Mizoram State AIDS Control Society is empowered to monitor the progress of implementation of the State AIDS Policy.
